How and Where Do I Get My Dog Licensed?
Dogs adopted through the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York must be licensed, by law, by the time they are four months of age. The FLSPCA of CNY no longer licenses dogs and all licensing takes place at Town/Village/City Clerk's offices. Following is a list of those offices. Clerks will be more than happy to assist with this legal requirement.
Each year the township will mail you a renewal notice. License cost may differ depending on township. Please call the town clerk for additional information. If you are new to the area or just haven't taken the time to license your dog, please do so, as this will help with the safe return of your pet in the event they get lost. You will need to provide a current rabies certificate.
