Our Adoption process
Adopting a pet is a huge responsibility. Before you consider adoption, please review the information below to make sure you are fully prepared to make an addition to your family.
Please be advised that our shelter does not do same day adoptions.
It takes time to process applications, contact landlords if you are renting, and perform veterinary checks. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs and you have other dogs in the home, we like to do a "meet and greet" to ensure compatibility. We try to accomplish these items within a reasonable amount of time. Thank you for understanding!
Before You Adopt
Can you care for this pet for his or her entire life (up to 12 years or longer)?
Can you be financially responsible for:
- Basic needs such as quality food
- Annual vet checkups and yearly shots
- Annual dental cleanings
- Preventative treatments (heartworm, flea control, etc)
Can you take this pet with you if/when you move to a new home?
Can you provide training if needed?
And Most Important - can you shower your pet with love, affection, and companionship?
IF NOT, please consider waiting until your circumstances are right.
