Adoptable Pets

Adopting a pet is a big decision, and we’re here to help make it a joyful one. Whether you’re looking for a playful kitten, a gentle senior dog, or a new adventure buddy, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

When you adopt from our shelter in Auburn, you’re not just saving a life—you’re opening your heart and home to an animal who’s been waiting for just the right person. Our team will get to know you and what you’re looking for, so we can help you find the perfect fit.

Before You Adopt...

To make sure adoption is the right step for you right now, please make sure you can answer “yes” to the following:

  • Are you 21 or older with a valid photo ID?
  • If you rent, have you checked your pet policy and any deposit or monthly fee requirements?
  • Do you have time, space & resources for food, grooming, vet care, and training?
  • Have you thought about the type of pet who would best fit your lifestyle?

Some local towns and cities have limits on how many pets you can have—so it’s always good to double-check before adopting.

Our Adoption Process

Step 1

Let an adoption counselor know you're interested in adoption. We will gather a little information at this time (have a valid photo ID ready).

Step 2

Let our adoption counselor know who you're interested in adopting.

Step 3

Have a conversation with our adoption counselor about the pet you're interested in adopting. The counselor may have some other suggestions for a pet that will fit what you are looking for in an animal companion.

Step 4

When you’re ready to move forward, you’ll complete the adoption and pay a one-time fee (see below). Then your new family member can go home with you—same day if you’re ready! We also offer a 24-hour hold if you need a little time to prepare.
