Pet Pantry

Helping keep pets in loving homes — even during hard times.

The Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York offers a Pet Pantry to support pet owners who may be struggling to afford food or basic supplies for their animals. We believe no one should have to give up a beloved pet due to temporary financial hardship.

What's Available

Our pantry primarily offers pet food (for both dogs and cats) and may occasionally have other pet supplies (like leashes, bowls, or litter) available in limited quantities.

How It Works

Our goal is to help keep families together — including the furry members. The Pet Pantry is just one way we offer support beyond the shelter walls and provide a safety net for pets in our community.
  • Eligibility: Available to anyone in need.
  • Frequency: Pantry visits are limited to once every 90 days.
  • Enrollment: Stop by the shelter to enroll — a valid photo ID is required. Both you and your pet(s) will be enrolled in the program.
  • Pick-up policy: The person enrolled must pick up their own supplies. The only exception is if a case worker or caretaker picks up on their behalf — they must present a work badge or ID.
